History of LLMI

In 1993, a successful joint American/Finnish medical mission north of St. Petersburg, Russia resulted in an official Russian request for Christian volunteers to come and share their lives and faith with Russian children in summer camps in that area. It was determined that over 300,000 Russian young people were in camp each summer in this area of Russia. These camps were part of Joseph Stalin’s Young Pioneer Corps system through which the Soviet Union forcefully indoctrinated its youth in atheism and Marxist philosophy.

After the Soviet Union was disbanded, these camps continued to function as summer camps. However, Russian officials became increasingly concerned that there was a high risk of losing a whole generation to alcohol, drugs and violence without any moral/ethical base as provided under the Soviet system. As a result, Christians from America, Australia, and Finland were asked to come and help meet the need.

Mission Global Outreach was established in 1996 in the state of Connecticut by Mark Browne as a sending missions organization.  They continued to train and send teams to Russia, Belarus and Ukraine until October 2005, when many of their team leaders had the experience to develop their own teams and mission trips. LifeLine Missions International Inc.will continue the work started by Mission Global Outreach and will be open to the leading of the Lord in new fields of mission work in the former Soviet Union.  Some areas where work is expanding include visitation and assistance to handicapped adults and the elderly.

LifeLine Missions International Inc. is incorporated in the State of Ohio as a non-profit, short-term missions equipping and sending agency. Lifeline Missions operates as a 501 (c) (3) organization  under the Internal Revenue Service code and all donations are tax-deduct
